The Blob Fish typically waits for prey to swim to it since it has nearly no muscle mass what so ever. Blob Fish often gather around their eggs, but no one knows whether it is because they are protective. The blob fish is covered in a highly toxic sludge that keeps away parasites or any other fish with enough guts to eat it.
